Whole-Home Rewiring in Beaux Arts Village

Original, ungrounded or aluminum wiring replaced with grounded copper, staged a few rooms at a time and priced in full before the first wall is opened.

Giving an Older House Modern Wiring

Older wiring tends to fade rather than fail. Outlets lose their grip on plugs, there is nowhere to ground a surge protector, and the insurer starts asking about the age of the system. At some point, replacing it outright becomes kinder to the house, and to your peace of mind, than patching it piece by piece.

A rewire is much less dramatic than it sounds. New cable is threaded through the existing walls and ceilings wherever possible, with small, square openings only where a route cannot be found. We finish one group of rooms before starting the next, so the kitchen and at least one bathroom stay in use.

Before anything is opened you will see the whole plan on paper: the order of the stages, the days each one should take, and the full price.

What Shapes the Price

Every house is different inside its walls. These are the main variables.

The size of the house

More rooms mean more circuits, more devices and more days on site.

How the house is built

Open attics and crawlspaces make for easy routes; plaster walls and finished basements take more care.

Partial or complete

Some homes only need the oldest circuits replaced; others benefit from starting fresh throughout.

The panel

A rewire often goes hand in hand with a new panel, which is priced as its own line if needed.

Aluminum branch circuits

These can be replaced or, where appropriate, repaired with approved connectors at lower cost.

Devices and fixtures

Whether you keep existing light fittings or choose new ones affects the total.

Patching

We leave neat openings ready for a plasterer or painter; full wall repair can be quoted separately if you wish.

Good to Know Before We Visit

  1. Note what bothers you

Warm plates, flickering lights and outlets that will not hold a plug all help us see where to start.

  2. Tell us about insurance or a sale

A deadline from an insurer or a buyer shapes the order of the work.

  3. Plan the household around it

We will suggest which rooms to do first so daily life is disturbed as little as possible.

How a Rewire Unfolds

  1. A detailed survey

We open a sample of boxes and look into the attic and crawlspace before writing the plan.

  2. Stage by stage

Each stage usually takes a day or two, with power restored to those rooms each evening.

  3. Inspection and records

The work is inspected as required, and you receive a labeled panel and notes on what changed.

Curious About What Is Behind Your Walls?

A survey answers that question and gives you a clear, written plan for putting it right.
